08-05 Missed opportunity in Maggiora
Jens Walvoort was still injured and missed this EMX250 round. Meico Vettik entered the weekend as 4th overall and in good form after a top 5 weekend in EMXOpen in Latvia. Unfortunately two startcrashes made the results not match the speed. Vettik qualified in 9th, but moto 1 was over after 150 meters in an incident with Coenen. The 2nd moto was under muddy conditions, where a good start was essential. Meico actually had a great start in 5th after the first turn, but a crash by another rider resulted in Meico getting off track and having to regroup in last. It was hard to pass on the muddy track, and Vettik could not do more then 13th.
